SEO Progress & Content Strategy · Month 4

From a standing start to thousands of monthly impressions

Four months in, Loan Street Finance has gone from effectively zero organic presence to ranking for thousands of the right searches. The foundation is built and the campaign is progressing well — here's where we are, and the plan for the next phase: moving those rankings onto page one.

Where we are at month 4

Zero to visible in four months — now we turn that visibility into clicks.

At launch the site ranked for effectively nothing. Today Google shows Loan Street ~40,000 times a month for the searches that matter — a strong, fast start. Naturally at this stage most pages sit on page 2–3: seen, but not yet clicked, with the homepage doing the early heavy lifting. That's exactly where a four-month-old campaign should be, and the foundation is now laid. The next phase is clear and low-risk — lift the pages we're already ranking onto page one, and add a few purpose-built pages to capture demand the homepage is currently catching by default.

Priority 1 · biggest lever

Advance the specialist-audience pages to page one

In just four months your /mortgage-brokers/[profession] pages already pull huge impressions at low keyword difficulty — indexed, relevant and climbing, currently around #18–29. This is winnable demand sitting one solid push from page one — the single fastest win available now.

accountants962#1870
engineers959#110
lawyers320#243
SMSF broker (/mortgages/smsf-loans)2,470#33112

Do / fix

  • Deepen each page — most are thin. Add profession-specific detail: which lenders offer LMI waivers / higher LVR for that profession, income quirks (overtime, HECS, casual/contract), real scenarios, and a profession-specific FAQ block.
  • Match the query exactly — title + H1 should be "Mortgage Broker for Doctors / Nurses / Self-Employed…" (the exact terms pulling impressions), not generic.
  • Internal links — point the relevant blogs at each page (e.g. the LMI-waivers post → doctors/nurses/accountants pages; the HECS post → doctors/nurses).
  • Add FAQ + Service schema for rich results, and 2–3 testimonials from that profession where possible.

Priority 2 · untapped

Own the Albury–Wodonga region with real local pages

Strong local demand is ranking off your homepage because there are no dedicated service-area pages. These sit #9–14 — a purpose-built local page beats a homepage every time for "broker + suburb".

Do / fix

  • Build service-area pages: Wodonga, Albury, West Wodonga, Baranduda, Bandiana, Lavington, Thurgoona, Wangaratta, Corowa — each with local content, service list, and a local map/GBP embed.
  • Play the cross-border angle — Albury (NSW) vs Wodonga (VIC) have different stamp duty and first-home grants. A "Buying across the NSW/VIC border" resource is genuinely unique and highly local.
  • Google Business Profile + consistent NAP + LocalBusiness schema to support the local pack (you already appear in it for "wodonga").

Priority 3 · your explicit ask

New resource pages to build — outside loan pages & blogs

Assets that earn rankings and links, capture demand, and generate leads — none of which currently exist on the site.

Calculators hub highest value

Evergreen ranking + lead-gen magnets. Build a suite:

  • Borrowing power · Repayments
  • Stamp duty (NSW and VIC)
  • LMI estimator · Deposit/savings goal
  • Extra repayments · Offset savings
  • Refinance savings · Comparison rate

Location / service-area pages local

One per suburb you already rank for (see Priority 2). Capture "broker + suburb" off dedicated pages, not the homepage.

Government schemes & grants hub high intent

  • First Home Guarantee (2026)
  • First Home Super Saver (FHSS)
  • First Home Owner Grant — NSW & VIC
  • Stamp duty concessions — NSW & VIC
  • Regional First Home Buyer Guarantee

First Home Buyer resource centre expand /fhb

Turn the thin /fhb page into a hub: deposit → pre-approval → schemes → settlement, linking your best first-home blogs.

Lenders we work with trust + links

A panel page (60+ lenders) builds trust, targets "[lender] broker" searches, and earns internal link equity.

Mortgage glossary long-tail

A–Z of terms (serviceability, comparison rate, offset, LMI, LVR…) — captures thousands of definitional long-tail queries and feeds internal links.

FAQ hub + Reviews page schema

Central FAQ (FAQPage schema) and a dedicated testimonials/reviews page (Review schema) — you already rank for "loan street finance reviews"-type intent.

Downloadable checklists lead capture

Document checklist, first-home checklist, refinance checklist — gated or ungated, great for links and email capture.

Priority 4 · tidy the engine

Consolidate the blog — 66 posts, too much overlap

Several clusters have multiple thin posts competing for the same terms (cannibalisation), spreading authority thin. Merge each cluster into one strong pillar, redirect the rest, and link the pillar to its money page.
